Opened in May of 1998, Spuds has become the Northern Michigan destination for those who are weary of seeing the same things wherever they go.
We pride ourselves on the fun and unusual in all areas of the 6000 square foot shopping area. With new things arriving daily, it is a different store every week.

The Old Spud Warehouse lived in a circa 1900 former farmers co-op building used by local potato growers as a railroad shipping point to get their harvests to market.
The bones of the building have been maintained, with the slatted walls that promoted circulation to prevent rotting still in tact. The metal walled engine repair room and the 12 food high basement (because potatoes crush under their own weight at 11 feet) are now used for shopping.
